This comes after the journalist publicly called out Abudu for using her work without giving her due credit.

In response to this, the Chief Executive Officer of EbonyLife Films posted a video via Instagram on Tuesday where she addressed the issue.

Abudu alleged that Ovuorie had taken up legal action and she requested for the sum of $5 million as compensation for intellectual property theft following the successful release of the movie, “Oloture” on Netflix.

The media mogul stressed on the fact that she already obtained the rights to the film from Premium Times Services Limited, the owners of the story.

It should be noted that Ovuorie had mentioned that Oloture is an adaptation of her life story during an exclusive interview with Pulse.

The media mogul refuted the claim in the Instagram video, as she mentioned that over a 100 people worked together to give life the movie.

Abudu also shared that she and the Ovuorie were on good terms prior to the movie release. Although, she stated that she promised to give five percent of gains from the movie’s cinema run to the journalist’s foundation and she had subsequently supported her with cash gifts following the demise of her father in 2020.
