The food you eat on daily basis goes a long way to affect your eye health. If you want to improve and maintain good eyesight, below are foods you should start consuming.

Fish consumption is very good for the eyes due to the presence of omega-3 fatty acids. Fishes which have a very high level of omega-3 include tuna, salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines, anchovies, herring etc.Fish consumption can also reverse dry eyes so include fish in your diet for the sake of your eyes.

Zinc is a mineral present in beef which aids in long term eye health. Zinc also slows down age related eye disease. It also aids to prevent sight loss and macular degeneration. Meats like chicken and pork contains zinc but in a very low amount compared to beef.

Egg reduces the risk of age related sight loss due to the presence of zeaxanthin and lutein. Eggs are also very important to the eyes as there contain vitamin E and C. there also contain zinc so try and include them in your diet.

 

9. Water

 

 

Water is a universal solvent we cannot all do without. Lack of water in the body does not only affect the brain but also the eyes. Taking enough water prevents dry eyes and dehydration.
